CEO Network: No Longer Business as Usual

By

By Christopher Stevenson

As financial markets continue to shift, CUES is making corresponding changes to the content mix at CEO Network ’08, and I have met with CEO Network presenters who are customizing their messages to speak more directly to current circumstances. This, in an effort to keep the conference as relevant and timely as possible and to meet the changing needs of credit unions.

While we typically begin planning conference agendas about six months out, the dramatic pace of chance in recent weeks has necessitated a few on-the-fly changes. As CUES’ professional development manager, I’ve had the privilege of working with our exceptional general session speakers, including actor and economist Ben Stein and Tom Gardner, co-founder of Motley Fool, who are helping us retool this event to meet your needs at this critical time. Both have expressed their desire to tailor their sessions to better address the challenges you face in today's market.

Ben Stein will provide his take on the economy and market downturn, their effects on credit unions, and what's coming down the pike. He'll also explore how credit unions can seize an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of consumers.

Tom Gardner had planned to speak about “Putting a Face on Business," but will now provide a market update instead. He will break down the market news, explore where we go from here, and provide insights to help you plan your business in today's uncertain economy.

Just as importantly, at CEO Network, we’ll join together in important discussions about the future of our industry. Please join the conversation. And, watch here for other changes in the works, as well.

Christopher Stevenson is CUES' professional development manager and one of two main contributors to the CUES Nexus Connection blog.
